Winemaker Chris comments on the wildly popular wine flick Sideways as he releases two new wines from both sides of the Sideways spectrum -- a 2014 Vin Gris of Pinot Noir (a blush) sourced out of Santa Rita Hills and an aromatic and tasty Merlot from the very well regarded Russian River Valley located in the heart of Sonoma.  You will also be introduced to Lily Rock Cellars, a new wine label in the Middle Ridge family.

Introducing our inaugural Artist Series label - a celebration of Idyllwild Deer Sightings, the town's first permanent public art exhibit.  The 22 life-size deer, painted by local artists, commemorate the art, history, and culture of Idyllwild.  Six of the deer were selected for the Artist Series, with each showcased on its own label.  See them all on the inside spread.  In this edition, you'll also hear from Winemaker Chris on the art of blending wine, including our newest releases -- 2010 Meritage and Coyote Run.

What is Idyllwild Deer Sightings?  It's the first permanent public art exhibit in the mountain art community of Idyllwild, the town where Middle Ridge was started.  In this issue, you'll learn more about this great project as well as two wine varietals - Malbec and Petit Verdot.  Once used only as blenders, these two varietals are making a name for themselves as great stand-alone wines.

Well you wind up with a take-off of the Moscow Mule - a sparkling wine version of the moscow mule made completely from grapes, fresh-sliced ginger and Cascade hops.

In this issue we explore Blue's Creek Vineyard. This is where winemaker Chris gets his ever famous Blue's Creek Pinot Grigio grapes from. Perhaps the only Alsace Clone 52 Pinot Gris in the entire of the Temecula Valley, it is remarkable the aromatic structure of fresh pear and apple that comes from this fruit.

We have a wonderful recap of our 2011 Barrel Tasting Party with our annual Signature Aroma Table.  We sampled the 2010 Old Vine Zinfandel and had a great time.  We also list some of the new places that have picked up our wine to serve in their establishments - including the very new and spectacular Farmshop in Brentwood, CA.
