2008 Reserve Petite Sirah
If you love aromatic wines, you’re going to love this Petite Sirah! It starts with rich scents of juicy plums and sun-ripened blackberries. Swirl it in the glass, and swirl it again, and notice licorice and floral aromas as the wine opens up. Then take a sip and enjoy a rich, velvety mouthfeel, the result of aging in French oak for 31 months. Savor it all because we’ll never experience this wine again – after the 2008 harvest, the vineyard was lost to a herd of rescue horses. Good for the horses, not so good for us wine lovers. Enjoy this Paso Robles varietal on its own, or with sharp cheeses, a hearty prime rib, or spicy Italian dishes.
