The Malbec grape is well known in Argentina and France where they make very different and expressive wines. The 2014 Middle Ridge Malbec is a welcome addition to this group. Starting off with its beautiful ruby color, you’ll soon notice aromas of espresso, violets and dark chocolate. On the palate, you’ll get black current, violets and hints of dark chocolate with a long and pleasant finish. This medium-bodied wine pairs well with grilled salmon, venison with a dark mixed berry reduction, as well as cranberry chutney over roasted pork loin.
