2014 Reserve Petite Sirah
Not related to Syrah from the Northern Rhone region of France, Petite Sirah loves a warmer climate and grows very well in California. The 2014 Reserve Petite Sirah has a deep opaque ruby red color. Notice how it stains and slowly drips down the sides of your glass. This is a big bodied wine full of black currant, white pepper and herbal aromas with flavors that mirror these aromas. Normally, the Petite Sirah grape creates very high tannic wines, but the 2014 Reserve has all those tannins under control, which make way for a nice long and fruity finish. This is a bold wine, so it should be paired with bold food like beef stews, steaks, BBQ ribs and aged hard cheeses.
